Pomarium Fruit Path

Contact information

We have evidence of commercially successful fruit growing in Pinzgau going back over 150 years. In Bramberg, especially, the cultivation of traditional varieties, including "Zwiebler", "Borsdorfer", "Weinling" and "Spitzling", plays a prominent role. The Pomarium, at the Reitbauer Farm in Wenns in the Wildkogel Arena, is unique in the Oberpinzgau in terms of its size and design, and is a direct result of those developments.

On lands that feature a mixed-orchard habitat, uniquely valuable in terms of its ecology and how it shapes the landscape, the old varieties have been preserved, while the planting of new trees has expanded the visual appeal of the garden as well as the variety of the harvest itself.

The orchard is open to the general public throughout the year. A variety of improvements and updated info boards, providing background facts about the growers, cultivation, as well as the trees and fruits, turn your visit into a memorable experience. Also located right there in the orchard, a bee house impressively demonstrates the connection between successful fruit growing and these, proverbially as well as figuratively, busy insects.
