Hiking and tobogganing – a family adventure on the Wildkogel
The Wildkogel Slide Trail is a special destination for families with children in the Salzburg region. The trail starts at the middle station of the Wildkogelbahn in Neukirchen and leads to the Stockenbaum inn.
Along the route, 10 stainless steel slides ranging from 22 to 53 metres in length provide plenty of variety and fun. With a slide mat, you’ll go through tubes, over waves and through troughs – interspersed with short walking sections. The slide trail is ideal for a relaxing day’s walk with children.

The Slide Trail is specially designed to meet the needs of families with children. Short sections and plenty of opportunities to stop for a break make the trail an ideal destination for a family day out in the mountains during the summer.
- The slide trail is open during the Wildkogelbahn’s operating hours, weather permitting.
- Use of the slide trail is included in the ticket prices.
- Starting point: Wildkogel mid-station | End point: Gasthof Stockenbaum
- Sliding mat hire (compulsory) for a fee of €3.00 per person at the Wildkogelbahn mid-station | last hire: 4.00 pm | return to Gasthof Stockenbaum
- Minimum age: 6 years | Minimum height: 130 cm

Slide Path Bus
The Rutschenweg bus (included in the National Park Summer Card) takes you from the end of the Rutschenweg trail at Gasthof Stockenbaum back to Neukirchen and the Wildkogelbahn valley station.
Minimum of 4 people (€5.00 surcharge for up to 4 people).
