Rediscovering the human touch & nature in Wildkogel-Arena
Many regular guests are convinced that Neukirchen and Bramberg in the Wildkogel-Arena have the friendliest hosts anywhere. Meanwhile, the big-gest nature sanctuary in Austria and the network of alpine hiking paths on the Wildkogel were seemingly designed to create distance from the year we have all just gone through
After such a long wait, the two National Park Villages inside the Wildkogel-Arena are really longing to greet guests who are aching for a healthy dose of nature, unique experiences and memorable adventures, Thanks to high safety and hygiene standards as well as the outstanding Austrian health system, the region is exceptionally well prepared for the summer season, even implement-ing a few additional steps in the last few weeks. The underlying message is clear: Let’s all be more mindful and slow things down a little. And it certainly doesn’t hurt that one of the greatest advantages of this region is its location amid the vast magnificent expanses of the Hohe Tauern National Park Holi-day Region.
For safe interactions and an unforgettable mountain summer in the Wildkogel-Arena
So that you can enjoy your holidays to the full, our motto is clear: “Feel safe with confidence”. All local businesses in Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen & Bramberg are fully prepared to implement current safety regulations. Wildkogel-Arena offers you all the space you need to get out and about however you wish.
The new “Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail” links together the mountaintop hiking trails surrounding the Wildkogel-Arena to create one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking tours in the Alps.
Beginning in mid-May, it will be time to lace up those hiking shoes and get ready for the Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail on the sunny side of the Salzach River Valley, between Krimml Waterfalls, the Wildkogel-Arena and Lake Zeller See. The 10 moderately difficult stages were created in collaboration with the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region. Boasting a grand total of 150 kilometers, 14,000 vertical meters and 52 hours of pure hiking! Hiking on eye-level with the highest mountains in Austria has a profound emotional impact. Not least because of the breathtaking sight of the Hohe Tauern peaks – extending from the Grossvenediger, to the Wiesbachhorn and Grossglockner, all the way to the Kitzsteinhorn – and the absolute tranquility encountered here, far removed from the busier hiking paths amid a sea of Alps. With each stage taking roughly five hours to complete and 15 km in length, moderate climbs without safety cables and elevations between 1500 and 2400 meters above sea level, stamina and surefootedness are essential. Though of course, you could just as easily opt to do individual stages and then spend the rest of your time kicking back and enjoying your holidays down in the val-ley.
The “Sonnenweg” is ideal for families and rookies. This light variant of the Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail leads in five stages at moderate elevations, safe to hike even in bad weather, changeable weather conditions or during seasonal transitions. Along the way, hikers can quench their hunger and thirst at huts and mountain inns. A suitable hike from springtime until well into au-tumn, even in unsettled weather.
As a partner of the Austrian KlimaAktiv program, with the new e-liner (electric train) the Wildkogel-Arena is sending a clear signal of its commitment to cli-mate-friendly mobility. Comfortably and without polluting, guests big & small are “chauffeured” to the starting points of the WildkogelAktiv program, while the ride itself is a special experience in its own right. Through big picture-windows, you will be able to gaze out in awe at the fascinating mountain world which surrounds you.
An initiative of the lift division of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The “Best Austrian Summer Lifts” seal of quality is only given to those lifts who are able to fulfill a set of 160 verifiable criteria in order to guarantee their guests unique holiday experiences, a wide range of opportunities and exciting attractions.
The Wildkogel lifts have also been recognized as mountain specialists for families:
