“NPHT: Schwarzkarlsee – Survival Strategies in the High Mountains”

From Enzingerboden, we follow the path – steadily ascending – towards Röten and Winterkogel. At about 2100 meters, the national park boundary is reached, and soon after, Schwarzkarlsee. In this high mountain landscape, the inhabitants of the wet habitats, the short growing season, and survival strategies in high altitudes are discussed. From here, the mountain panorama can be wonderfully enjoyed. The return trip is on the same route.

Difficulty: Moderate summer excursion on well-maintained trails with a destination above the valley floor.
