The Krimml Achental valley is one of the most impressive landscapes in the Hohe Tauern National Park and is inextricably linked to one of Europe’s greatest natural spectacles – the Krimml Waterfalls.
Even the approach to the valley is an experience in itself. Beyond that, a vast alpine landscape opens up, becoming increasingly peaceful and unspoilt with every step.

Krimml Waterfalls
With a drop of 380 metres, the Krimml Waterfalls are the highest in Europe. A leisurely footpath leads you straight to the waterfalls, where you can feel the refreshing mist and the impressive force of the water. You can easily reach the lowest waterfall, which has the most powerful cascade, in around 10 to 15 minutes’ walk.

From the waterfall down into the wide valley
The hike gets off to a spectacular start: the Krimml Waterfalls attract visitors from all over the world and are among Europe’s most impressive natural wonders.
Those who continue on into the Achental valley will discover a completely different side: vast alpine pastures, gentle paths and a stunning alpine backdrop make the tour a special experience, balancing the power of nature with tranquillity.
