Samerhofstall
Samerhofstall Cultural & Information Center is located in Neukirchen am Grossvenediger. The name of this info center comes from horse stables used by traveling merchants in centuries past, part of the Samerhof which no longer exists. The Samerhofstall is headquarters of Hohe Tauern Nat’l Park Future Council – Neukirchen. Talks are continually hosted here, as is an exhibition "Mineral & Ore, Untersulzbachtal Miners’ Trail". There is also a seminar room for 50 to 60 attendees (projection screen, slide projector and video available).

Untersulzbach Waterfall Natural Monument
Untersulzbach Waterfall is located at the entrance to Untersulzbach Valley, a 50 m-high, easily accessible waterfall nestled beautifully into the surrounding forests. After its free-fall, the water thunders through a number of smaller cataracts, before it finally flows through a 200 m-long, twisting gorge. A shaded hiking loop takes you on a 1.5 hr. walk around the falls, punctuated by numerous lookout points affording imposing views.

Hochfeld Mine
Our starting point is the car park at Gasthof Schütthof in the small community of Sulzau. From here, the Miners’ Trail (“Knappenweg”) leads us past the impressive Untersulzbach Waterfall to historic Hochfeld copper mine, one of the most extensive and original publicly accessible mines in Austria. The walk takes about one hour, and along the way you will experience the diverse vegetation which flanks the waterfall, the different species of trees in the alpine forest, and fascinating geological glimpses through the so-called “Tauern Window” into the rocks which form the Hohe Tauern mountains.
